Working Hounds
Join Us for Roading!
Want to try riding to hounds in a low-pressure environment to see what it's like?
You can join us on days when we "road" hounds to train them for the hunt. We have multiple participants including our huntsman and whipper-in, as well as additional wheel whips both mounted and on foot. That's right! - You don't have to be mounted to participate.
Dress and tack are casual.
We ride to hounds on beautiful local land trust properties, and we are a member of both the Windham Land Trust and The Last Green Valley conservation organizations.
NOTE: During the hottest months of July and August, we walk on foot instead of riding.
Anyone is welcome to join on foot as well.

A donation of $10 or $20 to support our hounds would be greatly appreciated and help us keep this time-honored tradition alive.
Come and join the fun! No one will be turned away.

*Liability Release form must be signed prior to participating.

Roading at Local
Land Trusts
Local land trust properties provide beautiful surroundings for walking our hounds. What better way is there to start off a summer day? During summer months when the weather gets warm we try to road three times a week in the mid-morning hours before the heat gets to be too much for the hounds. In the photo at left, Huntsman John Ryan is leading the pack and Whipper-In Leslie Cashel can be seen guiding the pack from the side.
